What is Recovery?

Recovery involves gaining quality of life through meaningful roles, relationships, and participation in the community. Recovery is less about cure and more about living a satisfying life.

There will inevitably be times throughout recovery when your progress dips, or even regresses.

Relapses are a part of recovery, and instead of viewing these backward steps as a ‘failure’, it is important to recognise them as an opportunity to learn about yourself. By doing this you can effectively determine your triggers in order to better handle future situations.

Just as living with anxiety is an individual experience, the process of recovery means different things to different people.

While you may not return to full health, you will gain an ability to manage symptoms so that they do not interfere with everyday activities.
