Creative Dance & Movement Program - an online introductory program at your own pace

This program is an introduction to creative dance and movement, which combines guided improvisation, simple dance steps, and mindfulness activities.

What is Creative Movement ? Creative movement is physical activity with the intention of exploring expressive ways to move the body. Through dance and improvisation, it provides an environment of creative growth and developing awareness of the body.

Starting 1st October 2020 as part of Mental Health Month

The online program has been developed for you to complete in your own time and pace, over an 6 week period. Emphasis is given on instructed movement for expression of the individual through the creative arts, designed for all levels of movement experience.

What will I do in this program ?

Warm Up - through simple movement and stretch activities we warm up our bodies.

Dance & Movement - guided dance and movement activities where we are moving, improvising and encouraging musicality and rhythm.

Breathing & Mindfulness - connecting to inner stillness and breath with simple meditation and mindfulness activities.

There are 3 Simple Modules with;

- Introduction to Creative Movement Program 

- Short Videos (breath in movement & mindfulness)

- Video (warm up movement / guided expressive movement)

- Tips & Downloadable PDF Activity Sheets

This program was an Artist lead development of work with ARCVic, with the support of Boroondara Council and the Rotary Club of North Balwyn.

Facilitator BIO - Adrina Petrosian

Adrina Petrosian is an Artist who uses the medium of movement and music to develop work that explores the human perspective. An advocate for the practise of arts and creative processes designed for the health and wellbeing of individuals and communities, she looks to create work which is meaningful and unique to a community.
