Volunteering

Our volunteers come from a range of backgrounds. For example they may have recovered or be recovering from an anxiety disorder or depression, be supporting a family member with an anxiety disorder, or be a health practitioner or a student with an interest in anxiety disorders or depression.

ARCVic volunteers are men and women of all ages who have a breadth of personal experience, are empathetic, non-judgemental and good listeners. They also believe in the prospects of hope and recovery.

Volunteering Stories

'The Anxiety Recovery Centre began assisting us last year with setting up a support group in Traralgon for people with anxiety disorders.  I have really enjoyed working with my co-facilitator to plan our meetings.  I have also got a lot out of the training days we have been offered.  This is something I couldn't have imagined being involved twenty years ago, and coming from a family where there is a predisposition to anxiety disorders, I think it is really important.'
